Automotive enthusiasts are always looking for the next best road to drive on. Some prefer the woods, others prefer scenic byways, and here at SQUAD-Driven, we prefer mountains.
On our 2020 East Coast Run, we rented out an entire mountain to drive up at sunrise and enjoy the views. Veterans Memorial Highway runs up Whiteface Mountain near Lake Placid, New York. This road was incredibly fun, mostly because nobody else was on it. We had the freedom to use both lanes - the entire width of the pavement. It was like our very own hill climb event at 6am.
Many of our teams enjoyed the scenery and cruised at a casual pace, while some drove more spirited. Let's just say that a few cars had some smoking brakes by the time they reached the bottom... What is your ideal road or driving destination?
